Kiss Me, Kate Spotlight Night

Hosted by Executive Producer and Artistic Director David Armstrong, Spotlight Night gives you an inside look at upcoming 5th Avenue Theatre productions. Kiss Me, Kate, inspired by The Taming of the Shrew, is only one of the many Broadway musicals that has been adapted from the timeless works of William Shakespeare. Rodgers and Hart, Leonard Bernstein, Galt MacDermot, John Guare and Stephen Sondheim have all taken on the challenge of bringing “the Bard” to Broadway. With the help of some of the Northwest’s best singers we’ll take a look at such shows as The Boys from SyracuseWest Side StoryOh, Brother! The Two Gentlemen of Verona and more. If music be the food of love, play on!

We will also review the history of Kiss Me, Kate, meet the cast and creative team for this new exciting production, and discuss the contemporary issues and challenges of presenting any version of The Taming Of The Shrew.

American Sign Language Interpreters provided upon request - please contact Guest Services at guestservices@5thavenue.org at least two weeks prior to the event.

Spotlight Night is always FREE! Please RSVP HERE for your general admission, first-come, first-served tickets. Tickets are required for entry.
